In 1992, a colleague in Scotland described good scenario projects as "anti-methodocratic".  At the time, most scenario projects were custom-made.  They were based on respecting a few core principles that relied on solid analysis, original thinking and rough rules of thumb.

This experience continues to be relevant in designing scenario processes today and is especially useful for creating new ways to learn how to anticipate and manage profound systemic change.
